Letter From Anna Nikki I
Published December 2024
Dear beloved readers,
It is an honor and a blessing to share space with you all. In barely over a year of teaching yoga it brings me to absolute awe just how many wonderful, heart warming moments I’ve been able to experience with you - the community, the students (although we are all students, you teach me so much). I could not even imagine a year ago that my life would look like this, overflowing with genuine connections, sharing our joys and sorrows together, co creating a safe and sacred space.
I’d like to share with you a little background about my yoga teaching journey and how it was through Divine Timing and alignment by the Universe that ushered me into this new life. I had full intentions of teaching regular yoga classes as soon as I graduated my 200 hour yoga teacher training December 2021. I asked a studio I was currently leading fitness style classes and was met with, “I just don’t think you’re stable enough to hold space for people.” I applied to various studios in the area and didn’t hear back from any. I let it go and just continued living my life.
December 2022 rolled around and my health issues grew so large I was unable to live a normal daily life. My face blew up like that scene from ‘Hitch’, eyes, lips, sometimes even my nose would swell up. I was hospitalized a couple of times, once for xanaphalitic shock. Extreme allergic reaction symptoms from seemingly random things or foods went from happening every once in a while, to every week. Met with unacceptable options from Western medicine, I thankfully found a wholistic approach that gave my body exactly what it needed to become strong and healthy again. 2023 quickly became dedicated to becoming healthy again. I had to cut many foods out, over time slowly I was able to add them back in, but essentially I was not eating any processed food, gluten, soy, seed oils, etc for quite some time. I figured since I had to “diet” anyways I might as well get a bonus out of it, which is when I decided to compete in my first bodybuilding competitions.
After two weeks in Italy to celebrate my health, the competition wins, the hard work I had accomplished, I told the Universe that I wanted to bring more yoga into my life again. I missed my personal practice and I wanted to share my love of it with others through teaching. Within a couple of weeks being back in Colorado, one of the studios I had applied to years ago, Serasana Littleton, contacted me asking if I could come in for an interview. I was confused, the manager told me my resume was recently updated on Indeed. I hadn’t been on the site since I first applied... Divine Source has led and guided me to exactly where I needed to be, exactly where I am.. here writing this letter and thanking you. I set out to complete my 300 hour yoga teacher training and did so within a year, to now be 500 hour certified. It is now my pleasure to lead NINE weekly yoga classes across 3 studios, with more to come!
I appreciate you and your presence more than I can express. Thank you so, so much for spending your precious time on this Earth moving your body in healthy ways, going inward to reflect, self evaluate, and show up for the sometimes hard work so that you can shine your authentic, bright light to the world! I am so excited to continue watering into this community, growing these well rooted seeds into flourishing gardens.
Lovingly,
Anna Nikki
